That was some wicked fast turnkey.
As reported by Kevin Gibson at his website, The Yellow Cactus has opened for business at 2350 Frankfort Avenue, just days after Ramiro’s Cantina vacated its long-term tenancy in the building. More information can be gleaned from The Yellow Cactus’s Jeffersontown page at Facebook (another branch operates in Floyds Knobs).
Yellow Cactus Opens in Former Ramiro’s Location in Clifton
The Yellow Cactus, which bills itself an “American Steakhouse and Mexican Restaurant” is open for business in that same (former Ramiro’s) location.
The restaurant’s website has posted an extensive menu packed Mexican staples like fajitas, burritos, quesadillas and tacos, and also dinners such as Tilapia Acapulco, Pollo Veracruz, Pollo De Light and Choripollo. Steaks include choices from a “Fiesta” ribeye, sirloin or t-bone, plus specialty steak dishes like carne asada strips and Vaca Feliz. For those looking for an affordable lunch spot, The Yellow Cactus offers a selection of eight basic Mexican combos priced at $7.99 each. Speedy Gonzalez lovers are in luck.
Kevin also revealed the opening game plan for The Smokery, close by The Yellow Cactus at 2344 Frankfort Avenue.
The Smokery opens in Clifton (where Dark Horse Tavern and Avenue Bar used to be)
As for all things Ramiro’s, the consolidated cantina’s new location in Jeffersonville is building out quickly and should be open soon.
