Reporting at Louisville Business First, Michael L. Jones reveals that the Norton Commons commercial space at 10640 Meeting Street, recently vacated by Mercato Italiano, will be occupied by Alchemy, “a Venezuelan and Latin fusion food truck.”
The target date for opening is November 16.
Alchemy food truck is moving into the former Mercato space in Norton Commons
(Alchemy co-owner Nelson) Michelangeli and his wife Nahyla launched Alchemy as a food stall in the Logan Street Market at the end of 2019. They decided to transition to a food truck in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and started operating in Norton Commons that year.
In April, Alchemy expanded its business to include a retail business selling pre-made meals and desserts out of a cottage in Norton Common’s North Village Market.
Michelangeli said the new brick-and-mortar restaurant will be an expansion of Alchemy’s presence at Norton Commons, and the food truck and cottage will continue to operate.
