After more than two decades of smoking up tons of top-notch barbecue for a mainly take-out fan-base, the small 750-square foot Bootleg BBQ restaurant at 9704 Old Bardstown Rd, out near the Bullitt County line will be trying to lure more customers to stay and sit a spell. Plans are in motion for a major expansion that envisions a 4,500-square-foot restaurant, with at least 100 seats.
Chasteen expects the expansion of the county location to be ready before the end of the year. The restaurant still will have a rustic appearance, with reclaimed wood and metal among the building materials.
