An unidentified elderly gentleman drove his car through the front windows of El Nopal in Middletown this afternoon, but he is okay.
Manager Jose Gonzeles did not have much information and said that he is not sure what happened on the street to cause the car to crash through his front windows, but all of his customers were in the bar area at the time and are safe (as is the driver).
“I was in the kitchen when the accident happened,” he said, admitting it scared him. “The impact was loud, and I came running to see what happened. One of my customers had a pain in their stomach, but they were ok. ”
The car has already been removed from the scene, and Gonzeles is waiting on the health department to arrive and tell him if he will be able to remain open.
