Kentucky’s Original Black Bourbon Enthusiasts (KOBBE) is a charity organization that combines the love for bourbon with a commitment to community. Founded in 2017, KOBBE has evolved into an official donor-advised fund, partnering with brands and the bourbon industry to raise funds for deserving organizations. With visionary leadership and dedication to inclusivity, KOBBE aims to make a lasting impact on the lives of individuals from all walks of life.

KOBBE has announced that in place of the nonprofit’s annual holiday benefit event, Bourbon & Benevolence, the organization will host Sip & Sole Holiday Edition this year, aimed at capturing the next generation of spirits drinkers with brand-centered experiences and sampling.

The event is expected to be a sellout.

This is not a sneaker ball. We welcome sneakers, heels, and loafers. We want whatever “Sole” means to you. This also will not be a bourbon-only event, with brand announcements soon. As with all our events, food will be served, and is to be named later. Again this year we’ll feature a single barrel release at the event. This year we’ve partnered with Pernod Ricard to release a Smooth Ambler Bourbon selected by KOBBE.

“We’re so excited to bring back Sip & Sole while expanding it for this holiday season,” said Jamar Mack, KOBBE Founder. “Guests who have attended Bourbon & Benevolence in the past will not only have a great time at this event but experience spirits and brands in an entirely new and fresh way.”

In 2023 there will be no live or silent auctions during the event; instead, they’ll be held online and concluded before the event begins. Silent auction proceeds benefit the E.B.A. Scholarship (Etta, Barbara, Alexis — Jamar’s two grandmothers and his mother, the important ladies that got him involved in charity work) for service that provides financial relief to individuals of color toward education in the spirits industry.

The event will also be collecting new and gently used socks + shoes that will be donated to local shelters and corresponding programs.

Sponsorships and partnerships with Sip & Sole 2023 are open to a limited number of brands, but there is still availability for shoe partners and various other opportunities for support.
