Oriental House is a Louisville institution, full stop. Here’s my 2017 F&D profile.
The family-owned restaurant at 4302 Shelbyville Road in St. Matthews closed its dining areas during the pandemic, then more recently embarked upon a remodeling project, inside and out.
Now the time has come for a resumption of bountiful dim sum (from Oriental House’s legendary “authentic Chinese” menu).
Come see the new Oriental House this WEDNESDAY!!! (Yes, like in two days) We just want to thank everybody for the patience, love, and support throughout this journey. This will be our first time opening our dining rooms to the public since the pandemic, so please continue to stay patient with us! Takeout will still be available as well.
Pencil in Thanksgiving for the Baylor family, please, although we probably won’t be able to wait that long to make a reappearance.
Oriental House’s web site lists opening hours as 11:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday through Monday (closed on Tuesday). These hours may or may not change with reopening, so you may wish to inquire.
