In Spanish, the word “fresco” means cool.

If memory serves, Fresco Tea Bar began in an incubator-like setting at MESA: A Collaborative Kitchen in downtown New Albany, then expanded to the foot of the Big Four pedestrian bridge in Jeffersonville. The MESA location will shift to the State Street corridor a couple miles away, and now a third shop is slated for Veterans Parkway in Clarksville.

The best source for information about Fresco Tea Bar’s bill of fare and operating hours can be found at its website. Meanwhile Laurel Deppen has the report about Fresco’s next step over at Louisville Business First.

Fresco Tea Bar will open a new location at 1370 Veterans Parkway. The space was previously Naila’s Caribbean Cuisine. The strip mall, Veterans Parkway Plaza, includes Leslie’s Pool Service & Repair, Kansai and Sports Clips.

It is expected to open in March.

Fresco Tea Bar is owned by Saera Morones, Ysha Bass and Mark Kermann. It’s part of the Southern Hospitality restaurant group, which includes several different concepts in the Southern Indiana region, including Union Restaurant & Gameyard, MESA and Sangria Bar at Union.
