As readers of F&D’s daily feed, you are obliged on occasion to allow the “content provider” (that’s me, and I prefer the term “writer”) to display his affection for a famous quote by journalist David Brinkley: “You’re entitled to MY opinion.”

But not today. I’m perfectly content to admit that I missed this one a couple weeks of ago, probably because it fell near St. Paddy’s (not Patty’s) Day, and I was too busy trying to determine why things like green-dyed beer are allowed to happen in this country.

Conversely, my negligence might have accrued from the fact that Jason’s Deli in St. Matthews is/was owned by a franchisee in Texas, and our focus tends to be on foodie localism.

But this is probably a coincidence. Take it away, Haley Cawthon (reporting at Louisville Business First).

Jason’s Deli to close in St. Matthews

Jason’s Deli, a longtime fixture at Shelbyville Road Plaza, will close Sunday, March 17.

The restaurant chain announced the closure via a sign on its door, which directs customers to its only other Louisville location at 410 N. Hurstbourne Parkway. Jason’s Deli was part of Shelbyville Road Plaza’s $7 million, 80,000-square-foot expansion in 2008, Louisville Business First reported.
