A new event begins tomorrow at Churchill Downs Downs After Dark series of nighttime entertainment. Before the spring meet ends, two top Louisville chefs will take their talents to the “Guest Chef Series @ Millionaire’s Row.”
Anthony Lamas, owner and Executive Chef at Seviche, A Latin Restaurant will be the first up, tomorrow, presenting a menu that he calls “a little South Beach.” Dishes will include a quinoa and mango salad with lemon-ginger dressing; ropa vieja; grilled octopus salad; and a made-to-order ceviche bar. The ceviche bar will offer avocado, cucumber, varieties of seafood and other ingredients. Lamas also suggested he might add a little drama by playing a bit with liquid nitrogen.
On June 30, Patrick Roney, executive chef at Harvest, will take over the reins on Millionaire’s Row. He is still planning his menu, but it will include local food and focus on food ideas from the 1980s, Roney’s favorite decade.
The new series is a separately ticketed event at Downs After Dark. There are 250 tickets available at $149 each. Ticket holders get access to the sixth floor of Millionaire’s Row and its outdoor balcony. The price includes the food, a full bar package from 5 to 10 p.m., the chance to mingle with the chefs and music from a live deejay, including WFPK’s Matt Anthony.
