On Thursday the news began making the rounds, although it’s not exactly clear when Redbud Dining Room’s last day in Germantown will be.

Redbud Dining Room to close after less than a year in business, by Haley Cawthon (Louisville Business First)

Redbud Dining Room, located at 983 Goss Ave., announced the impending closure in a Facebook post Thursday afternoon. It opened in August 2022, replacing German-themed restaurant Eiderdown, which closed in 2020.

“Sadly, due to issues beyond our control, we are going to have to call it a day soon,” Redbud Dining Room owners said in the post. “That being said, we hope that in these coming weeks, you can come raise a glass and break bread with your loved ones and our incredible staff one (or two) more times.”

If you’re among those interested in saying goodbye, Redbud Dining Room’s business hours are 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, and 5:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. (!) Friday through Sunday.

Here’s some background.

And this is the eatery’s “soon to part” post at Fb.

Dear friends, family, and neighbors

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we have to announce the imminent closure of Redbud dining room. We could never put into words how important the support of everyone in Germantown/Schnitzelburg and beyond has meant to us. We were honored to be given the opportunity to try out a new concept in the old Eiderdown/Jockamos/Redbud Liquors spot at 983 Goss avenue. Sadly, due to issues beyond our control, we are going to have to call it a day soon. That being said, we hope that in these coming weeks, you can come raise a glass and break bread with your loved ones and our incredible staff one (or two) more times.

Speaking of, from front of house, to back and beyond, the team at Redbud has 100% been the lifeblood and reason that Redbud continued to exist at all. It is their tireless efforts and positive energy that always kept things moving. Our incredible management staff of head chef Nick, bar managers Betsy and Meredeth, and front of house manager Lauren assembled a dedicated team that helped bring their visions to life. We are so proud to have been able to offer our patrons the amazing food and drink menu that our team created. Time and time again we were blown away by the creativity and passion put on every plate, into every glass, and in every effort to provide a great dining experience for our guests.

While we reach the end of the road, we hope that you will come enjoy an evening with us before we have to shut our doors. In the next few days we will be announcing a date for our employee appreciation day and some exciting specials. Even though we may be closing, we don’t plan to go silently into the night until the very end. We hope to see you soon.

Love

Team Redbud
