As this tale of sweets-biz relocation unfolded, readers of Louisville Business FirstĀ got the scoop (stories, not ice cream) from Haley Cawthon.
Hi-Five Doughnuts moving to the Highlands
A popular doughnut shop is moving from its current location in Butchertown to a new storefront in Douglass Loop.
For more than five years, Hi-Five Doughnuts has been operating at 1011 E. Main St. But it will soon move to 1940 Harvard Drive in heart of the Highlands, according to a post on social media.
Hi-Five Doughnuts provided additional “new digs” information at Facebook.
Then, with 1011 E. Main St. about to become vacant, Cawthon tracked the sound of moving vans in the distance to Baxter Avenue.
Big Nita’s Cheesecakes to open in Butchertown
Hi-Five Doughnuts hasn’t even closes its doors at 1011 E. Main St., but we already know what will take its place.
Big Nita’s Cheesecakes, a desserts shop, will take over the 1,300-square-foot space in early December, according to a news release. As I reported earlier this week, Hi-Five is moving to 1940 Harvard Drive in Douglass Loop.
Founded in 2019, Big Nita’s Cheesecakes sells specialty cheesecakes and cheesecake desserts. It has been operating out of a shared space on Baxter Avenue with pop-up sales once a week. The business purchased a cheesecake truck in 2021.
And, accordingly, Big Nita’s took to social media to celebrate a new home.
