KIWA at 2235 Frankfort Ave, Louisville, KY, is a hub of diverse flavors and cultural immersion. Savor our refreshing beverages, mouthwatering pastries, and Korean-inspired dishes while exploring Korean cuisine, art, and culture. Derived from Korea’s traditional roof, KIWA blends culinary traditions with captivating arts on our second floor.

As the preceding description from KIWA’s web site attests, the perimeter of the eatery’s aspirations extends somewhat beyond that of a typical coffee shop and cafe.

The word “kiwa” itself has a dual meaning in Korean: it stands for prosperity, and also a characteristic Korean roofing tile (for more, see Michael L. Jones’ article at Louisville Business First).

KIWA celebrated its grand opening earlier this week, and a visit to its page at Facebook yields enticing visuals, as well as other essentials.

Have you guys ever tried Korean homey foods? Only available on Saturday and Sunday weekends, KIWA provides Korean humble entrees that we had from Korea. (PLUS, it’s with the rice ball so can be a great substitute for the people who do not prefer gluten). Banchan or Korean side dishes can be changed in every 1-2 months.
