You already know that the legendary Dan Dry is the primary photographer for Food & Dining Magazine’s quarterly print magazine (read his amazing full bio here).
However, you may not know that for the past year, Dan has donated his services to skillfully document APRON Inc.’s ongoing Chef in a Box program, a tasty fundraising project that benefits the organization’s ongoing grant program.
APRON Inc. was created in 2011 to help provide financial relief to food and beverage industry workers in the Louisville, Kentucky metropolitan area who find themselves in need during times of crises. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, APRON Inc. has stepped up with a far greater volume of assistance to local workers than ever before.
August 5 was the one-year anniversary of Chef in a Box, and Dan created the cover collage illustrating 43 participating eateries to date (some restaurants have taken more than one turn, and there have been several vacation/reset weeks). As can be seen, the majority of weeks have sold out, and the program has been an unqualified success.
Chef in a Box resumes on August 18 and 19, and we’ll have a preview right here at F&D’s daily digital portal. For previous installments, go here.
This weekend, please remember to raise your glasses to the success of Chef in a Box.
Better yet, visit APRON Inc. and learn how you can help.
