As the renovations to the 800 Building nears completion, details about the restaurant to be located on the ground floor, Bar Vetti, are being made public. The name of the iconic 1960s-era blue-clad high rise will be changed to the 800 City Tower Apartments. Bar Vetti, to be run by Ryan Rogers (Feast BBQ, Royals Hot Chicken) and Andrew McCabe (chef at Royals), is slated to open later this winter, with a specific opening date to be determined as the project comes nearer to being finalized.

In a story in Louisville Business First, Rogers says he sees the potential primary clientele as the building’s residents, downtown workers on their lunch hour, and Old Louisville residents out for a dinner. Dinner will be sit-down table service; breakfast and lunch will be fast casual counter service. The bar will offer Italian apéritifs and digestifs, as well as the usual whiskeys, wines and beers.

Some specific menu items the Rogers proffered are oven-fired meatballs, brick chicken breast, culotte steak, shrimp and Kentucky carp, squid ink spaghetti and pizzas
