In our most recent quarterly print edition (Winter 2021, Vol. 72; copies still available at their usual locations) Sara “The Bar Belle” Havens trekked across town to survey Louisville’s best Bloody Marys.
As befits The Bar Belle’s expertise, she was asked to contribute to a collection of “Top Bourbon Moments of 2021.”
Sara’s moment: “It was a rainy summer day in July when Brough Brothers founders Christian, Bryson and Victor Yarbrough braved the weather for a moment that had been nine years in the making: the opening of their own Bourbon distillery in Louisville’s Park Hill neighborhood.”
As a postscript, last week the economic impact of bourbon in Kentucky was quantified.
Kentucky Bourbon is expanding its status as a premier signature industry, now pouring $9 billion into the Bluegrass economy every year and generating more than 22,500 jobs with $1.23 billion in payroll, Gov. Andy Beshear and legislative leaders announced.
