Log Still Distillery is bringing the goods to Whiskey Row in downtown Louisville, and making connections with its rural Kentucky destination campus.

Slated to open in the Spring of 2024, Monk’s Road Boiler House at 131 W. Main (formerly Bearno’s by the Bridge) takes its name from the distillery’s flagship line of bourbons and gins, and will boast a bar area for tastings and bourbon-themed events as well as a fine dining venue, the latter helmed by a familiar face: David Danielson.

Danielson, Log Still Distillery’s Chief Hospitality Officer and Executive Chef, offers this preview of what to expect.

“Monk’s Road Boiler House brings a new dining experience to Whiskey Row. The restaurant takes inspiration from the famed chophouses and supper clubs of a bye-gone era with a menu featuring hand cut steaks, fresh seafood, pastas and crafted classic cocktails served in an elegant setting.”

Monk’s Road Boiler House will comprise two levels, with the restaurant located on the upper tier, and the bar for tastings and events situated at the lower.

“This restaurant and tasting room will embody the history of our distillery, reflected in its hospitality, craftsmanship, and atmosphere,” says founder, president and distiller Wally Dant about Log Still’s imminent arrival downtown. “The moniker ‘Monk’s Road Boiler House’ is an ode to our historic distillery boiler house ruins, brought to life through the architecture to give guests the feeling of being present during a Master Distiller’s process.”

Given that Log Still’s main campus near Gethsemane, Kentucky includes The Amp, a highly regarded outdoor amphitheater hosting big names in country music, rock and bluegrass, a shuttle will be available to transport guests from Monk’s Road Boiler House to the amphitheater.

We’ll be back with an update when opening draws near. Until then, an information release brings us to speed about all things Log Still.
