The Sword and The Scone, 1915 Blankenbaker Parkway, will serve a special high tea with honored guest Kentucky Derby winning jockey Pat Day on April 22 from 3 to 5 p.m. The famous jockey will share his story from boyhood to his current work at the Kentucky Race Track Chaplaincy as guests enjoy a special Derby inspired menu of sweets, scones and savories – like festival pie bar, hummingbird cake, lemon lavendar cookies, salted Kentucky butter cake, mint julep creme pie and other treats – with endless pots of tea. Guests will be able to sample tea from more than 45 flavors and varieties. Part of the proceeds from this event will be donated to The Kentucky Race Track Chaplaincy.
Reservations with a charge card are required for the $45 per person tickets. Call 502-907-0018. Please note that tables are mostly for 4 and 6, so if you order less than four tickets, you may be seated at a table with other guests as this event is expected to sell out. (Buy one get one and other coupons are not honored for this special event.)
