Fresco Tea Bar has a new owner: Siliang Hu, originator of the Boba Bun food truck.

Fresco Tea Bar began operations in 2020 inside the Mesa facility in downtown New Albany. Correct me if this is mistaken, but later this branch shifted to 2441 State St., near the I-265 interchange. A location at 1370 Veterans Pkwy #100 in Clarksville opened, then closed in April of 2024, and another at the foot of the Big Four pedestrian bridge in Jeffersonville (223 Pearl St.) is listed on Google as being “temporarily closed” (presumably this is the one Boba Bun will soon reopen).

As such, following is the text of the announcement that appeared yesterday at Facebook.

As of today, Fresco Tea Bar has a new owner! Siliang Hu, proud owner of Boba Bun, is now also owner over Fresco Tea Bar.

Boba Bun was born over a year ago selling boba & food through food trucks in Kentuckiana at local festivals, events, farmer’s markets and more. She is now expanding to brick and mortars at both (our) New Albany and Jeffersonville locations.

Boba Bun will be serving not only your favorite refreshers, bubble teas, and lattes but also expanding her food menu to steamed buns, bubble waffles, and noodles.

The same great staff will be servicing you thru the transition. Boba Bun plans to reopen the Jeffersonville location under the new name and menu in late February.

As for Saera, Ysha and Mark, we thank you all for being such an amazing Fresco family to us through the years. This little concept started as an incubator during the shut down in 2020, and quickly grew to brick and mortars and a food truck, gaining thousands of guests along the way.

We love you all and can’t wait for Siliang to do her thing as she brings the very best of her into her new business expansion. Please go follow her pages on Facebook and Instagram.
