Germantown Social has opened for business.
Germantown Social is located at 1318 McHenry St.; as we enjoy saying in Louisville, it’s where Couvillion used to be, and the restaurant’s proximity to Germantown Mill Lofts is no coincidence, as Louisville Business First’s Eleanor Tolbert explains.
New restaurant opens next to Germantown Mill lofts
Jeff Underhill, CEO of Underhill Associates, said in an interview the concept came together through a familiar partnership with Shay Tinsley. Tinsley, operating partner of Germantown Social, worked with Underhill in the past on the B.A. Colonial in Colonial Gardens.
Underhill said his main contribution was with the development work and property management of Germantown Social. Mill Lofts LLC, of which he’s the principal, also owns the property, as well as the apartments next door. He said the two will be a great complement to each other.
“It is intended to be something that is not just food and libations,” Underhill said. “It is a social spot for Germantown. The whole setting is a place you would want to hang out.” healthy options but also casual.
