OneWest is “a community development corporation committed to elevating our entire city through commercial development growth in west Louisville.”
Two row houses at 516 S. 18th St. (A and B) in the Russell neighborhood, just around the corner from Chef Space, have been completely furnished and outfitted for use as restaurants to enable OneWest’s chef accelerator program.
Gore’s SmokeOut BBQ and Melt 502 (relocating from Fern Creek) are the restaurants OneWest has chosen for the first round of its program in Russell. They’ll have two-year leases, with OneWest providing logistical support (marketing, bookkeeping and human resources, among others). The goal is for the restaurants to sink roots into Russell at the conclusion of their leases.
Both will have their soft openings simultaneously on April 28, with permanent business hours beginning in May.

Our soft opening originally scheduled for tomorrow 4/21 has been postponed until next weekend due to various reasons.
We also wanted to kick it off proper w/ our new neighbors Melt 502.
