Its tacos, made in the style of Monterrey, Mexico’s third-largest city, are built on single, soft, deeply flavorful fresh-made tortillas topped with thoughtful combinations of ingredients that signal a chef’s creative hand and mind at work in the kitchen.

MexA Tacos closes in St. Matthews, Asahi Japanese Restaurant to expand
MexA Tacos (3701 Lexington Road) has closed in St. Matthews after more than seven years in business. The eatery, located at near Bauer Avenue, was sold in October 2022. Former owner Lorena Casas told me Tuesday that she sold the restaurant to Saw Tun, owner of Asahi Japanese Restaurant, which neighbors MexA. Signs on the building indicate that Asahi is expanding into the MexA space.
