Stepping away from the music scene was one of my hardest decisions, but NOW I get to combine my love for the music industry with my love for the service industry. Having the opportunity to step back feet first in the same building to elevate a bar I helped brand and build 15 years ago is a dream come true.
Restaurateur Jared Fox Matthews is talking about The Fox Den, his new “elevated dive bar” in St. Matthews. The Fox Den (“The Hunt for Fun Ends Here”) will take the place of Diamond Pub and Billiards, where Matthews was bar manager for more than 15 years.
Currently Matthews’ other properties include Equus & Jack’s Bourbon Restaurant/Lounge; Black Rabbit; and Lou Lou Food & Drink.
The Fox Den’s business plan retains the sports bar vibe, with billiard tables, darts, pinball, and live music seven days a week. Expect chef-driven pub fare, craft brews and craft cocktails.
