Joe’s Older Than Dirt is located at 8131 New La Grange Road in Lyndon. Founded in 1937, the original incarnation of Joe’s lasted until 2015, when it closed to make way for Olé Hospitality Group’s short-lived Red Barn Kitchen concept; in turn, Red Barn shuttered in 2018 and Joe’s Older Than Dirt returned with former owner/General Manager Cres Bride and Olé partnering to restore the bar.
Now Bride has purchased Olé’s half of the business and is the sole owner of Joe’s. Michael L. Jones has the story at Louisville Business First.

…”Olé decided that they didn’t want to be in the bar business,” Bride explained. “They are focusing on restaurants. This is a restaurant/neighborhood bar. So, I bought them out two months ago. I bought them out of everything and the good news is that I have employees that know how to make all the food. Nothing has changed at Joe’s. It was a mutually beneficial decision.”
