Los Aztecas Mexican Restaurant has been operating for 21 years on the corner at 530 West Main Street opposite the Kentucky Center for the Arts. Now there has been a plot twist; with the sale of the building, alongside a pending shutdown for remodeling, owner Saul Garcia will relocate to a new home in downtown Louisville: 445 E. Market Street, at the doorstep of NuLu, formerly Wild Rita’s.
Garcia explained the move to reporter Haley Cawthon of Louisville Business First.
(Garcia) said he loves the restaurant’s current location, but the building needs to be remodeled … (and because) the new owner plans for a remodel, the restaurant would have to close for six to eight months.
“It was a tough decision,” he said. “But we cannot be without a business, so we decided to relocate. We know the NuLu area is nice and the new location is perfect for us.”
He told Hawthon that the current Main Street location of Los Aztecas will close on Saturday, October 19 and reopen the following week at the new building.
WE’RE MOVING!!We want to thank everyone who has supported us for over 20 years here on Main St. It has been an amazing…
