(Submitted) F&D has received an information release documenting El Taco Luchador‘s relocation in Jeffersontown, which is underway right now. All the relevant facts are included, so here’s the release, verbatim, allowing me enough time to prepare kippers with the morning coffee.

Taco Luchador Moving Jeffersontown Location, Debuting New Menu Items

Restaurant will open in the heart of Jeffersontown at 10305 Taylorsville Road

JEFFERSONTOWN, Ky. (May 11, 2023) The taqueria that’s been named the most popular taco spot in the state by BuzzFeed & Yelp is relocating its Jeffersontown location beginning May 17th. El Taco Luchador plans to close their Stonybrook Village Center location on May 14th and reopen in downtown Jeffersontown at 10305 Taylorsville Rd, the former location of Royals Hot Chicken.

“The new location is slightly larger with a significantly bigger patio,” said co-owner Rick Moir.  “Jtown has been so good to us.  It’s a great community and we feel fortunate to have such a loyal customer base.  We thought it was only right that we debut some new menu items in Jtown first as a thank you.”

El Taco Luchador serves over 10 fresh, cooked-to-order tacos along with Mexican sandwiches called tortas as well as salads and signature sides like Elote Callejero (grilled corn on the cob with mayo, cotija cheese and chile pequin) and desserts like homemade churros.

The new Jtown location will be the first Taco Luchador to begin serving new menu and drink items that will eventually be rolled out at the St. Matthews and Highlands locations in the coming weeks. Guests will be able to order drinks and desserts from their table by scanning a QR code.

New items include Nacho-Wey (choice of tinga, barbacoa, veggie, carnitas, chorizo on a choice of pork rings, chicharron, or spiced fries served with cheese dip, refried black beans, pickled jalapenos, pickled onions, queso ranchero, pico de gallo, guacamole, crema, cilantro, and roasted tomato), seafood bowls like Salmon Pibil and Pasilla Shrimp, tacos like the Quesabirria (Oaxaca cheese and barbacoa beef stuffed taco with pickled jalapeno, queso ranchero, cilantro dipping broth on a white corn tortilla).  Other new items include the Tlayuda (open quesadilla), Ensalada PicanteChicken Milanesa Torta or Taco and the Suadero Torta Taco (seared and braised brisket).

Thanks to a new tortilla maker imported from Oaxaca, all tortillas are now housemade and new options include chipotle, cilantro, and blue corn.

Taco Luchador is part of the Olé Hospitality Group. The Taco Luchador restaurants are known for their brightly painted walls adorned with colorful signature masks of Luchadores, the famed wrestler-entertainers of Mexico.
