At Louisville Business First, Michael L. Jones relates the forthcoming reopening of the 30-year-old University Club at the University of Louisville (200 E. Brandeis Avenue), slated to return in May following a period of dormancy since the pandemic.
Of particular interest to F&D is the hiring of Eric Morris, late of Faces and Gospel Bird, as executive chef. Jodi Bernstein will be the general manager, and the reconstituted eatery is under the aegis of Creative Dining Services, a hospitality management company.
University Club on UofL campus will reopen in May under new management
(Eric) Morris, who most recently worked at Wiltshire on Market, started his new new job this week. He still hasn’t had time to plan out the menu.
“I’m still kind of waiting to see what the club members are looking for,” Morris explained. “I assume it’s going to become classic American fare, but I’m going to put my elevated touches to it a little bit.”
