Before diving into the present-day unpleasantness up in the Knobs, be aware that 45 (or slightly more) years ago, the corner occupant of the commercial building in question—known to one and all at the time as Schuppert’s Corner—was an unpretentious rural tavern that had a reputation for serving beer to carefully vetted high school students.
And no, I’m not going to tell you how I know this, apart from confiding that the chili at that joint was good, too, and it came WITH NOODLES.
Now that the chili aficionados have trotted off to one side to indulge in their futile disputes about unattainable standards of edible propriety, we’re free to explore the topic at hand.

Speaking for myself, I root for independent small businesses. Floyds Knobs has changed considerably since the days of Schuppert’s Corner, but being good at what you’ve chosen to do is timeless.
Best wishes to Arni’s and Carr’s as they strive to make the best of a bad situation.
