The new-style White Castle—no longer the gleaming Porcelain Palace of the past, but now with craggy off-white stone tower—is back with its inimitable approximation of food.
The Trinity guys have been bereft of sliders for a dozen years, but now fast-food Nirvana has returned, beefed up with White Castle’s modern retooling. Along with the unmistakable fragrance of frying onions, you can find flat screen televisions, Wi-Fi and a kitchen island where customers can watch their food being prepared.
The Castle is where a KFC used to be. For those yuppie snobs who distain the idea of ordering bags full of teeny burgers, but get a kick out of eating soup out of a hollowed out loaf of bread, a Panera Bread will be going in nearby.
