Edibles & Potables: The burgoomeister, his burgoo, and your contentment
Burgoo is Kentucky’s unique potpourri and must be considered as much a part of the state’s legacy of edibles and potables as bourbon, so brace yourselves for the 3rd annual Burgoo Bash, which is coming to the Louisville Slugger Field West Concourse on Saturday, March 16 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., as brought to you by Against the Grain Brewery and APRON Inc., and presented by Monk’s Road Bourbons & Gins.
This Pro- (accomplished chefs across the city) Am (great home cooks from across the city) brings out the best recipes of our beloved stew with old, new, and inspired creations that will make this a perfect Saturday Burgoo Bash! The Bash keeps getting bigger so space needed to be bigger hence the move to the “Hall of Fame” location. The Ticket Price will allow you to taste until your heart’s (or belly’s) delight.
In addition to the burgoo competition, there’ll be a Monk’s Road Cocktail Contest and a new judging category featuring cornbread (burgoo’s ideal companion). Cocktails and AtG beer will be available for purchase, and a portion of the proceeds of tickets sold will benefit APRON, Inc. Live music will be performed by The Whiskey Bent Boys.
APRON Inc. was created in 2011 to help provide financial relief to food and beverage industry workers in the Louisville, Kentucky metropolitan area who find themselves in need during times of crises. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, APRON Inc. has stepped up with a far greater volume of assistance to local workers than ever before.
