We have received an information release about this new event in New Albany, which is being held on Saturday, August 17 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at 410 Pearl St.: “The Sip New Albany.” I’ve lightly edited the release to provide readers with the highlights.

Join us at “The Sip New Albany” on Saturday, August 17th as we highlight some of New Albany’s local talent, along with local businesses, artisans and vendors, all the while enjoying a sip of local wine, cocktails and craft beer.
A few of the participants:
Wineries: Huber, Best Vineyards and Ertel Cellars.
Breweries: Floyd County Brewing Company, Falls City and Butchertown Brewing.
Craft cocktails: REAL Infused syrups, from American Beverage Marketers (a global company located in New Albany) is being paired with Green River Bourbon, challenging bartenders from The Exchange, Brooklyn and the Butcher, Outcast, Pints & Union, Board & You, Fistful of Tacos and Distillery 64 to create cocktails for selection as the People’s Choice Award.
Distillery 64, a micro-distillery located in New Albany, is supporting a “Chopped” style competition with their Solskin Gin for use by the participating bartenders.
Similarly, board members of the New Albany Main Street Association (501c3; formerly Develop New Albany), which operates the New Albany Farmers Market, are assembling a mystery basket for the bartenders. Chef Josh Lehman from Copper & Kings American Brandy will conduct a demonstration about the house-made pastrami with 3D Valley Farms.
Also on hand: a dozen-plus local artisans and vendors, the La Catrina Food Truck (other bites will be available for purchase) and a DJ. The Sip’s official afterparty, with live music, food and drinks, takes place at the Dog Haus Biergarten, located directly across the alley from the event space.
