Great Flood Middletown is out (Lou Lou coming in). Also, Pivot Brewing for sale

Recently when Great Flood Brewing Co. closed its restaurant in Middletown (12717 Shelbyville Rd.), social media posts made it clear that the vacated space soon would become a third location of Lou Lou (after Lou Lou Food + Drink in St. Matthews and Lou Lou on Market in NuLu).

We’ve received an information release providing additional details, and I repeat it here.

“Lou Lou Middletown: Three Times the Charm!”

Lou Lou is thrilled to unveil our latest addition: Lou Lou in Middletown. We are bringing the same beloved flavors, hospitality, and ambiance that Louisville has cherished for years to a vibrant new neighborhood.

Guests can expect to find their favorite classic Lou Lou dishes on the menu, alongside exciting new creations exclusive to Lou Lou in Middletown. While our Cajun roots remain prominent, Lou Lou takes pride in offering an eclectic menu influenced by flavors from across the globe.

Familiar faces from the Lou Lou family will warmly welcome patrons, ensuring that the spirit of community and camaraderie thrives in our new location.

Lou Lou in Middletown promises to be the ideal destination for family gatherings, weekend date nights, cheering on your favorite teams, and everything in between!

Owner Jared Matthews is quoted.

“We’re excited to introduce Lou Lou to the Middletown community. Our goal is simple: bring unique flavors to you in a lively and welcoming setting. With a shortage of local dining spots here, we’re thrilled to fill that gap. Serving people has been our passion from the start, and we’re proud of how far we’ve come since starting this journey with my childhood friend, Thomas Barnes, eight years ago. Our team feels like family, and we can’t wait to serve the amazing people of Middletown.”

Also quoted is Miles South, Director of Operations.

“We’re incredibly thrilled to introduce Lou Lou to Middletown. Over the years, residents from Prospect, Middletown, and J Town have frequented our existing locations and eagerly anticipated a spot closer to home. When the opportunity arose, we knew it was meant to be! One of the most rewarding aspects of our current locations is seeing familiar faces who have become part of our Lou Lou family. I look forward to forging new connections with the Middletown community and sharing the same enjoyable and unique Lou Lou experience that our patrons in St. Matthews and NuLu cherish today.”

During the past year, Matthews has been busy, opening Osteria Italian Seafood …

… and selling The Black Rabbit.
