APRON Inc. was created in 2011 to help provide financial relief to food and beverage industry workers in the Louisville, Kentucky metropolitan area who find themselves in need during times of crises. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, APRON Inc. has stepped up with a far greater volume of assistance to local workers than ever before.
Concurrently KOBBE (Kentucky’s Original Black Bourbon Enthusiasts) is a philanthropic organization dedicated to change: “Keep Good Company, Drink Good Bourbon, Do Good Deeds.”
Since KOBBE’s inception, we have tried to distinguish ourselves by presenting unique and approachable bourbon events to a demographic that isn’t always catered to in this industry. We recognize nobody starts off as a bourbon expert and so from the start, that’s why we’ve always had the mindset of, ‘come learn with us.’
Humanitarian action is at the forefront of all that KOBBE does, and bourbon is the throughline. Through whiskey raffles, auctions, membership engagement, and our annual soiree, Bourbon & Benevolence, KOBBE has raised over $75,000 in charitable giving.
On Wednesday, September 7 APRON Inc. and KOBBE are combining to present Happy Hour at the Black Rabbit speakeasy (120 Sears Avenue) from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. You can get to know both teams and their respective missions while enjoying two complimentary signature cocktails curated and selected by KOBBE, along with craft bites ($30 in advance and $32 at the door; visit Apron to purchase tickets).
