Given that it will take a few days for Derby 150 euphoria to recede, and appropriately so — your daily correspondent is not a horse racing fan, but what an amazing race that was — here is a final reminder that Food & Dining Magazine’s Spring 2024 print edition, available as always at issuu, is about to yield to next: Summer, coming in early June.

Today I’m tidying a profile of Tom Brown and his two popular businesses: Craft House Pizza and Hometown Brewing. Tom’s “word of the day” is urgency, and tomorrow (8 May 2024) I’ll share a passage from the article within my weekly “Hip Hops” column.

Meanwhile, for those who are new to our cosmos, F & D’s raison d’être as a quarterly print publication differs in several ways from what I do here at the website.

rai·son d’ê·tre
/ˌrāzôn ˈdetrə/
noun
The most important reason or purpose for someone or something’s existence: “an institution whose raison d’être is public service broadcasting”

Our print magazine entertains and informs; it is a summary of the previous three digital months, but more importantly, the magazine lands in hundreds of Louisville area hotel rooms and greets visitors to Louisville; see yesterday’s “Louisville hotels and their eateries: Tempo by Hilton in NuLu,” and note that if you’re a potential advertiser interested in reaching future hotel guests, drop us a line and let’s chat.

Accordingly, if you’ve never before sampled what F & D has to offer in terms of our “comings and goings” coverage, maps and area restaurant listings, click the links below and check them out.

RESTAURANT GUIDE

COMINGS & GOINGS: A summary of changes in the local restaurant scene — with openings, closings, changes and more.

DINING GUIDE: Our comprehensive list of Louisville eateries is a unique and essential tool for area diners.

MAPS (Restaurant Locator): Location is everything for diners and for restaurateurs — and our one-of-a-kind maps cover the entire Metro region.

The Spring 2024 issue of Food & Dining Magazine is now available in all the familiar places: Louisville area eateries and food shops, newsstands and online. Subscribe to our award-winning print publication and have it delivered to your door each issue.
