Deap Patel’s “India-meets-world” line of salsas and sauces have been such a hit at Logan Street Market that he has enlisted his family and added Deapster502 in the space recently vacated by Harvey’s Cheese, serving staples like biryani and vindaloo, along with cross-cultural tikka tacos and vegan tikka. Sweets and desserts are available, too.
“My Indian and American friends would eat my food and tell me how different it was from other Indian food,” Patel told Louisville Business First’s Michael L. Jones. “Then in 2021, someone suggested I start selling my salsas. I didn’t have any recipes. It was all in my head, so I said: ‘If I’m going to start writing down recipes, I’m going to create a business.’ Now, I have a restaurant.”
It’s early, and Deapster502’s business hours are as yet unclear, although WDRB-41 reports Tuesday – Sunday as opening days, with the eatery closed on Monday.
