This month, Fond, the small curated grocery and special weekend dining spot at 2520 Frankfort Ave. turns a year old. Owner/chef Madeleine Dee (who will be the guest chef on Secrets of Louisville Chefs on Saturday, Oct. 15), has announced some tweaks, additions and alterations to her private dining program.
Dee has taken over an upstairs room above her ground level shop and converted it into a private dining room upstairs for more intimate meals. Upstairs diners will have two choices, a “regular price for a 5-course meal OR a slightly higher cost for extra spoiling.” The regular meal price is $75 per person, which Includes gratuity, sparkling water, amuse bouche, and 5 courses. The meals are BYOB.
Fond dinner subscriptions will go from $50 to $60 per meal. Already purchased subscriptions will be honored at the original cost. During the holidays this year, subscriptions for 2017 will be offered at the original price. Subscriptions are discount purchases of at least three dinners for the next year.
Dee started a guest chefs program this year, which she will expand next year. Guest chefs from local restaurants collaborate with her for special thematic dinners. Also, Dee will schedule Sunday dinners regularly, offering “lots of experimentation and culinary excitement.”
The Wine Rack now offers 10% off for all Fond diners. They will continue to offer pairing suggestions for the meals, as well.
During her first year, Dee cooked different menus each weekend, which she will continue through the end of the year. In 2017, the menu will change MONTHLY. One weekend of each month will feature a “vacation”, or a special break from what is featured during the rest of the month, an opportunity for her to try themed dinners, or, in her words “wacky experimental stuff.”
