There’s a food truck/food court coming Saturday to the Purple parking lot under the Abraham Lincoln Bridge (501 River Road).
The outdoor food festival is called the Food Truck Mash-Up, presented by USA TODAY Network Events and the Louisville Courier Journal. The newspaper’s Kirby Adams offered a preview last month: Everything you need to know about Food Truck Mash-Up coming in August.
“We’re excited to bring Food Truck Mash-Up to Louisville,” said T.H. Irwin, director of the Food Truck Mash-Up series for USA TODAY. “You’ll be able to indulge in more than 50 food options from the best trucks in the state and from as far as Cincinnati.”
This savory community event gathers many of the region’s most popular food trucks in a huge, one-day outdoor celebration. Whatever food you’re craving — burgers, sushi, tacos, barbecue, ice cream or something else — chances are high you’ll find it at the Louisville Food Truck Mash-Up.
Food Truck Mash-Up hours are 1:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 24.
General admission tickets are $5 online and $8 at the gate, and do not include the cost of your food truck meals. There are adult and youth “early access options” for beating the crowds at noon, and children under age 5 are admitted free. Active military, veterans and first responders also are admitted free, for up to four people, “as long as one of the four can show a valid ID.”
