Saturday, Dec. 3, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Les Dames d’Escoffier Kentucky will hosts their second annual holiday bake sale at Copper & Kings brandy distillery, 1121 E. Washington St. Proceeds from the sale will benefit the LDEIKY scholarship fund, which helps culinary students and professionals pursuing LDEI membership, and Green Table, an initiative connecting urban and rural farms to schools and restaurants.
Les Dames d‘Escoffier International is a worldwide philanthropic society of professional women in the fields of food, fine beverage and hospitality. The Louisville chapter has recruited more than 60 local chefs and LDEIKY members to make their favorite cookies, pies, scones, bread, cakes, candy and other assorted Christmas food treats.
Students from the National Center for Hospitality Studies at Sullivan University will collect and package all of the donated goods which have been contributed by local chefs, skilled home bakers and culinary celebrities from such restaurants as Brasserie Provence, Decca, Butchertown Grocery, Ramsi’s Café, Anoosh Bistro, Cake Flour and The Bakery at Sullivan University.
