Les Dames d’Escoffier Kentucky (LDKY) is the Kentucky chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier International (LDEI), an invitational organization of women leaders in food, beverage and hospitality whose mission is education, advocacy and philanthropy.

On Monday, January 25 at 6:00 p.m., the LDKY chapter will present “Cheers to Cheese & Charcuterie,” an event in conjunction with Cultured urban cheese shop (1007 E. Main St.), benefitting APRON, Inc.

Here’s how the event works, according to a press release form LDKY.

Participants eat, drink & create an Instagram-worthy cheese/charcuterie board with cheese connoisseur and master board designer Jessica Mattingly, owner of Louisville’s CULTURED cheese shop. Jessica joins Les Dames d’Escoffier Kentucky (LDKY) for a hands-on, fun & tasty evening of cheese, charcuterie & wine. From presenting the perfect bite, to highlighting one cheese with an accompaniment, to preparing an artistic Instagram-worthy cheese & charcuterie board, Jessica delights participants with her memorable, always savory, homespun style – all in the comfort of their own kitchens!

The medium for participation is ZOOM, the link to which will be sent to registered participants by Friday, January 22. Tickets can be purchased at Eventbrite.

The class covers how to choose cheese, as well as to properly cut, present and store it. Best of all, participants turn their cheese board into a work of art with Jessica’s user-friendly techniques, including making a river, balancing flavors and textures, and adding a ribbon of Prosciutto.

Proceeds from this event “will be added to the funds that LDKY has donated to APRON, INC., providing relief and support to Louisville’s independent restaurant community.” Here’s how it works:
