According to Amanda Hancock at the Courier Journal, “the bar’s new digs will be at 810 E Market St., which appears to be the former studio for Graymarket Design and is located behind Lou Lou on Market and Lueberry.”

High Horse announced its impending relocation Wednesday on social media.

For the record, the text says it all:

Dearest Friends and Family – we want to let you know that we will be moving High Horse at the end of this year. Not because we want to and not necessarily because we have to. We are very excited about our new spot and we plan on saying a proper goodbye to the current one for the next three months. During the last five years we have built a wonderful family of customers and employees both past and present. We survived the dark days of covid, lost ones that we loved along the way and had too many wonderful nights and experiences to count and hold every one of them close to our hearts.

Recently we found ourselves in a dispute with the landlord. The differences have become irreconcilable, so we are moving on. We have always strived to work with people we love, respect and trust which led us to our decision.

The future of High Horse is much smaller and bar focused. It will be a living and breathing tribute to what a bar is and the bar industry itself. We are going to take the wide range of emotions that we have soaked in, package them into a new space and tell a new story without forgetting who we are and where we came from. What we have is an energy, not a building, and while we hate to leave a place that we literally built with our hands, we are hyped about our future in NuLu.

See you for the rest of the year and then we will see you at 810 E Market Street.

High Horse forever.

And, yes, relax; the new building is likely to be air conditioned, too.
