Sorry peeps, but anyone who complains that we have too much pizza in Louisville hasn’t had Coals Artisan Pizza. There’s never too much of that, and a new one is coming.
Mark and Madeline Peters plan to open their second Coals this summer in Middletown. The newly constructed restaurant, located at the corner of Shelbyville Road and Madison Ave., will be part of a strip center with six total retail shops, including Coals. To blend in with nearby historic buildings, the facility will resemble an old-fashioned railway station.
The couple opened Coals in St. Matthews’ Vogue Center in 2011 and have done a bustling business ever since. According to Mark Peters, he and his wife been looking for a second site since then and want to open other Coals restaurants down the road.
