On Thursday the owners of Old Louisville TavernĀ and Hillcrest Tavern acted to tame the bubbling SoIN rumorama by announcing that New Albany Tavern (I’m hoping this is the correct name) will open soon at 114 E. Market St. in the building occupied until recently by another bar that relocated to the Highlands.

The historic downtown New Albany building, which was completely renovated and modernized by Resch Construction in 2017-2018, hosted various taverns throughout its long history apart from the Prohibition era, when it was a shop.

Here’s the text.

Look’s like the cat is out of the bag! We can’t tell you how excited we are to be bringing our Neighborhood Tavern to New Albany. The kitchen is a little smaller, but it is bringing us back to our roots when we started the Old Louisville Tavern almost 12 years ago in May of 2013. We are excited to get to work and be creative with our new culinary home to bring you as many of your favorite items as we can serve out of our space. Let us know some of the items on our menu you just can’t live without. Make sure to follow us @newalbanytavern (Instagram) for updates on our journey to get open!

As yet, there is no timetable for opening, but when more is known we’ll be back.
