Military and aviation fans definitely have a reason to be excited about October 6 and 7 in Louisville, but so do coffee fans. That weekend features the family fun filled Bowman Field Aviation and Military Festival at Bowman Field Airport from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fante’s Coffee is joining in the fun by brewing “The Bowman Field Blend,” a special blend created to be sold at the festival. It is yet to be determined if the blend will be sold at Fante’s Coffee Shop in the future.
“Like the men and women who trained and flew out of Bowman Field to experience different parts of the world,” said Fante’s owner Leo Fante, “Fante’s Coffeehouse Bowman Field Coffee Blend brings different parts of the world back to Bowman Field.”
He went on to explain that the blend is made with coffee from South and Central America along with coffee from Indonesia blended with love and attention to detail. The flavor comes from blending these distinctly different coffees from three different coffee regions and roasting them to one roast point that embodies a new uniquely strong flavor.
The festival will also feature a historic aviation & military showcase, more than 30 planes from the 1920s to the 1960s, military memorabilia and exhibits from WWI through Afghanistan, community and industry exhibitors, a Four Roses bourbon bar, craft beer and food trucks, and a kid’s craft corner. Vintage plane rides are available for additional fees. (Prices vary.)
