Thirty-three restaurants now make a point of buying locally-raised produce and meat products (and some fish too) for use in their dishes. If locally sourcing your foods matters to you (and it should), a new pamphlet put together by metro government’s Farm to Table program will help connect you to restaurants that share your locavore values.
The Louisville Convention and Vistitors’ Bureau has collaborated in this little publishing venture, and is making the pamphlets available at the visitors’ center at Fourth and Jefferson Sts. The list of restaurants is also available on line here.
“Louisville makes many national lists for its great food and independent restaurant scene, and using locally grown ingredients is an important reason for those accolades,” Sarah Fritschner, the Farm to Table program coordinator, said in a news release.
The brochure will be updated annually, and restaurants who wish to be listed are asked to contact Fritschner at sfritschner@louisvilleky.gov.
