You might recognize the name Dan Dry. He’s the primary photographer for our print magazine, and he’s also the managing director of PriceWeber’s creative content studio.
Dry is partnering with ChromaLuxe to present “Dawn to Derby,” an exhibit featuring over 40 years of his photographs at the Kentucky Derby on ChromaLuxe high-definition aluminum photo panels. The exhibition will open at Unique Imaging Concepts gallery, 200 Distillery Commons (suite #120), with a reception this Friday, April 5, from 6 to 9 p.m. A Derby Grand Opening reception will follow on April 26 from 6 to 9 p.m., and the show will run through May 31.
“Some of the photography displayed at the exhibit dates back to the very beginning of my career with the most recent photos taken during the 2018 Kentucky Derby,” said Dry. “This event will capture the entirety of my life experience as a photographer covering the Kentucky Derby and Churchill Downs. I am honored to be selected for this exhibition and hope it will help get community members into the Derby spirit.”
Dry is recognized as one of a small group of renowned photographers to have partnered with ChromaLuxe to host an exhibition of this caliber. Dry is a recipient of more than 450 national and international photography, advertising and design awards during his career, including being named the National Newspaper Photographer of the Year, awarded by the National Press Photographers Association.
“ChromaLuxe is honored to sponsor this exhibition featuring the iconic Kentucky Derby photography from the legendary Dan Dry,” said Steve Flores, ChromaLuxe Global Brand Manager. “ChromaLuxe sponsors exhibitions across the globe, but it is rewarding to host such a tremendous exhibit in our hometown of Louisville.”
