Sellersburg is temporarily down one Mexican restaurant, but a succession plan will be implemented by VIVA Hospitality Group, which is converting one of its concepts (the departing El Catrin) into another (the arriving Señor Iguanas). The address is 7773 County Road 311, Sellersburg.

Earlier this month the El Catrin page at Facebook posted an explanation.

The text:

To Our Valued Guests,

It is with a mix of emotions that we announce the permanent closure of El Catrin Mexican Kitchen. Our final day of service will be Sunday April 21st. We are forever grateful to all of our loyal customers, neighbors and the Sellersburg community for their unwavering support and wonderful memories over the past four years.

But fear not, this is not a farewell! We are excited to share that we will be reopening under a new name, our sibling concept, Señor Iguanas! During this transition, we will temporarily close to train our wonderful team and implement some exciting changes. We anticipate reopening very soon and will keep you updated on our progress.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We cannot wait to welcome you back to Señor Iguanas for more delicious meals and unforgettable experiences!

Sincerely,

The Team at El Catrin Mexican Kitchen & Señor Iguanas (and) VIVA Hospitality Group

Señor Iguanas dates to 2007 in Clarksville. the restaurant is family-owned and operated, “with roots dating back decades to native Jalisco, Mexico.”
