Gene Stein, who some readers may remember as the owner of the now departed Pizza Guy, is launching a new carry-out and delivery app concept in St. Matthews called Pizza Jones at 126 Breckenridge Lane.
Pizza Jones includes a ghost kitchen making other types of branded food than pizza available (wings, spuds, hot dogs, desserts) as well as his own house beer Alton Strasse, which isn’t contract-brewed as such, but involves Goodwood Brewing’s “standard” line-up of cans.

Meanwhile Louisville Business First’s Michael L. Jones offered this preview: Former Pizza Guy co-owner launches new takeout brand.
Stein said Pizza Jones will fill a space between national brands like Domino’s and high-end, local pizzerias like Impellizzeri’s Pizza. In addition to Pizza Jones, Stein is also launching a beer brand called Alton Strasse.
“There’s a niche out there that’s not being filled right now, especially for delivery only,” Stein explained. “So, we’re going to fill that void that’s kind of missing in the marketplace right now, and especially delivering our beer.”
Pizza Jones is looking at a soft opening date of June 4, but this isn’t etched in stone. The Pizza Jones page at Facebook will have further details.
