If all goes well (always a useful disclaimer when talking about new restaurants), Butchertown Pizza Hall will open its doors today, June 19.
Chef Allan Rosenberg, who founded Papalino’s Pizza and ran it for several years before moving on to other projects, is returning to the focus that has been his most durable success. Rosenberg has taken over the space that for a half-century or so was Hall’s Cafeteria at 1301 Story Ave., and has been revamping it for his Butchertown Pizza Hall.
He plans to open at 11 a.m. today, serving a thin-crust pizza at prices ranging from $3.50 for a cheese slice to $30 for a loaded pizza. Butchertown Pizza Hall (the name tries to pay tribute to Hall’s Cafeteria’s history) will have a full bar and lots of arcade games.
