In conjunction with the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Goodwood Brewing Co. will be hosting the annual Blessing of the Keg at its NuLu location (636 E. Main St.) on March 12th.
Doors open at 4:00 PM, followed by music by Louisville’s rowdiest Irish band The Bold Roberts at 4:30 PM, the blessing by Fr. Fowler at 6:00 PM and the tapping of the keg immediately thereafter. The blessed brew in question is Goodwood’s high-gravity Bourbon Barrel Stout, which bestows its imbibers with hints of coffee, vanilla and – of course – Bourbon.
If you arrive late (or if beer was your Lenten sacrifice), don’t fret: bomber bottles of the stout will be available for purchase at the brewery. F&D
