This year’s edition of the Kentucky Bourbon Festival takes place from September 5 – 7 in Bardstown, Kentucky.
However, everything in its right place: the Kentucky Derby precedes the Kentucky Bourbon Festival, and the Shepherd Insurance Great Steamboat Race happens prior to the Run for the Roses — hence, the Kentucky Bourbon Festival Distiller’s Dinner on Wednesday, April 30.
We received an information release about the dinner, which follows.

Join us for the 2025 Kentucky Bourbon Festival Distiller’s Dinner featuring Angel’s Envy at Savor at River House on April 30 — an evening of camaraderie, bourbon, cuisine, and views of the Ohio River and the Shepherd Insurance Great Steamboat Race.
Angel’s Envy Master Distiller Owen Martin will guide guests through a tasting experience of the distillery’s standout bourbons including Angel’s Envy Triple Oak, the KBF Distillers Row Sherry Finish Single Barrel Pick, Angel’s Envy 2024 Bourbon Cask, and a special surprise pour.
The night begins with a welcome cocktail showcasing the official 2025 Kentucky Bourbon Festival recipe, followed by a dessert cocktail to cap the experience, complementing a flight of four neat pours.
The four-course dinner will be crafted by Chef John Varanese, chef and owner of the Levee Bourbon Lounge. Varanese settled in Louisville because of its appreciation for and success of the independent dining scene. Varanese is known for his culturally diverse and creatively curated menus, along with his dedication to incorporating local food to provide fresh and signature dishes.
Doors open at 5:15 p.m. and the dinner starts at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30. Tickets are $150 per adult, limited, non-refundable and for those 21 years or older. Learn more or purchase tickets here.
