No, as always, Mother’s Day is the week after Derby, Sunday, May 11 and Louisville restaurants are gearing up for a big family day.

Winston’s, at Sullivan University, 3101 Bardstown Rd., will offer a special Mother’s Day brunch buffet, featuring a carving station with prime rib and ham, made-to-order omelet station, salads, grilled vegetables, grits, Chef Castro’s Not Brown, seared salmon, chicken, pasta, waffles, biscuits and gravy and a dessert station. Varanese Restaurant, 2106 Frankfort Ave., will serve an a la carte Mother’s Day brunch menu from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The choices will include starters such as local organic spring greens salad, with a cucumber vinaigrette and smoked salmon and goat cheese frittata with baby spinach and sun-dried tomatoes. Entrees will include poached eggs served over crab cakes topped with lobster Hollandaise, bacon-potato hash and truffled greens, angel hair pasta with beef and veal meatballs and tomato-basil sauce, slow-roasted leg of lamb, poached eggs and grilled beef tenderloin medallions and a Bourbon barrel-smoked turkey Hot Brown with Parmesan cream sauce. Limestone,10001 Gilders Green Blvd, will have a Brunch Buffet 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Buffet items will include a carving station with baked ham with a bourbon-brown sugar glaze and roast sirloin with horseradish cream. On the hot buffet, you will find southern fried chicken, broiled flounder, eggs Benedict, apple smoked bacon and link breakfast sausage, omelets and French toast made to order, biscuits and sawmill gravy and vegetables. The cold buffet will feature fresh salads, smoked salmon and seafood platter and shrimp cocktail and shucked oysters. Broadway, will offer an appetizer table with seafood bar breakfast buffet and charcuterie and cheese display, as well as a prix fixe menu with soups, seasonal salads and entrées of beef filet with butter braised fingerling potatoes; pan-roasted halibut with tomato and red pepper relish; and loin of lamb with quinoa tabbouleh. A dessert buffet will offer chocolate panna cotta, warm peach cobbler and pineapple upside down cake. The cost is $59 and $20 for children ages 4 to 12. Children under 4 are complimentary.
